I’ve just received my second Liebster Award nomination, thanks to Amila from Many Little Obsessions. I have previously nominated others, listed facts about myself and posed my own questions (blog post here) but I am more than happy to take part and answer Amila’s questions! So here goes:
1. What is your life credo?
I actually had to Google this – I am so not down with the kids! I don’t really have one as such, but rather lots of lovely little quotes that I love (check out my Pinterest board on this very topic). One of my all-time faves is “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”, from Eleanor Roosevelt. That and “you can’ be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling” from Inception. What can I say, I’m a dreamer!
2. What is the most difficult thing you find in blogging?
Time! And procrastination. I try to spend an hour or two blogging each evening and most Sundays but awesome television and napping often get in the way…
3. Another hobby apart from blogging?
I’m attempting to get more crafty. Hopefully you’ll be reading about my attempts soon!
4. Your favourite movie of 2013?
I really liked The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I didn’t get to the cinema much last year and that was the last cinema trip of 2013. Check out more of favourites from last year here.
5. Your favourite TV show host?
I don’t watch a lot of reality TV but I’ve got a soft spot for The X Factor, so Dermot O’Leary. His Austin Powers dance entrance was the best thing ever!
6. How much time do you spend on Twitter daily (if you have one)?
A good couple of hours. I tweet for work and do most of my personal tweeting on the commute.
7. What was your biggest New Year’s resolution for 2014?
I can’t remember now! Let me go back to my blog post about it… I guess the biggest one was to get out more. This week I’ve done more than I had done in the last month: dinner at a friend’s on Thursday, dinner with the boyfriend and a pub gig last night and cinema tonight. I’m also using some of my holiday allowance to have random days off with the boyfriend over the summer so we can explore Cornwall some more. Yay :)
8. Your favourite book?
Ah, y’all should know by now I hate this question! Imma go with Jane Austen’s Emma until further notice…
9. What would you say is one thing every person should try in his/her life?
Breaking out of your comfort zone – you never know what new passions and talents you might discover.
10. The countries you have visited so far?
Paha! At the ripe old age of 26, I have never been travelling. I have always lived in England but different parts of the UK count as different countries so, so I have popped over the border to Wales a few times (my best friend lives in Cardiff) and I worked in Scotland for a couple of weeks (the Dundee area). I also had a school trip to the war graves in Belgium, which involved going through France. I’m very envious of Lauren from The Enjoyable Rut who has been all over the world on a budget. She’s my wanderlust hero!
11. What is your role model? Or if you feel you don’t have one, then name your favourite celebrity and one reason why you chose this person.
My role models are those who inspire others to change the world, particularly women in positions of power who fight to overcome stereotypes of femininity. I recently blogged about some of my favourites for International Women’s Day.
Thanks again for the nomination! Check out my previous list of bloggers to check out here.
