I follow nearly 200 blogs on Bloglovin, from A Beautiful Chaos to Zen Scribbles. I had a semi-recent cull and unfollowed old URLs or those who hadn’t posted for six months and the total still stands at 186. As I scroll through the list of blogs I follow, maybe 20 or so stand out as blogs that I regularly read, rather than click ‘mark as read’ on my feed. These are the bloggers who I rely on for book recommendations, discovering new geeky passions and telling it like it is. The ones I can imagine sitting down over a brew or a cocktail or two, chatting about anything from parenting woes to Gilmore Girls, and everything in between.
If you’re a regular reader of my Saturday Share posts, you’ll likely have come across most of these beauties before. But if you’re new to A Cornish Geek and are looking for blogs to add to your reader, you can’t do better than these.
The fashion bloggers
Admittedly, I’m not exactly a fashion guru; I like what I like and stick to it. But these gals know their stuff. She & Hem suits my style perfectly (if I had a healthier bank balance) and Fashion For Lunch is just so freaking fun and colourful.
The travel bloggers
I’m also not at all well travelled but the likes of Kirsty Leanne and A Lady in London make me feel that it’s not all that far beyond my reach and I love the range of locales.
The mental health bloggers
Geek Magnifique and A Beautiful Chaos are inspiring in their honesty and impact on their readership.
Based in Cornwall
Not all of these gals may be Cornish by blood but they’re certainly Cornish in their hearts. I love checking in on the latest from A Cornish Mum, Life Unexpected, Salty Songs and The Cornish Life. On Serpentine Shores and The Salty Sea Blog particularly stand out because of their ever so dreamy photography. Give them a follow on Insta too.
The blogging gurus
I rely on the likes of A Branch of Holly and Jasmin Charlotte for the latest tips and news when it comes to blogging and social media.
The book bloggers
Looking for new book recommendations? You can’t go wrong with Blogger’s Bookshelf and Lauren Evie.
The fellow stationery aficionados
I can’t get enough stationery porn and Colours and Carousels and From Roses certainly help with the ol’ Pinspiration.
The geeks
This post is getting nerdier and nerdier, isn’t it? If you like comic books and all things kawaii, check out dePepi and Eleanor May.
New to me
Now these bloggers are hardly new to the blogosphere but I did only start following them this year. I started following Forever Amber for the pregnancy posts and stayed for the gorgeous interiors and when I stopped being a judgemental bitch and realised that Vix Meldrew blogs about more than sex and relationships I developed a new girl crush.
The legends
These are the gals I’ve been following pretty much since the birth of this blog, when it was launched about five and a half years ago as A Few of My Favourite Things. They’ve been a constant source of inspiration and encouragement: Hannah Gale, Dorkface, Treasure Every Moment, Twenty Something Meltdown, More About Cat.
It’s that time of year again, folks: The UK Blog Awards. If you find my book and film reviews helpful, or if you drool over my stationery porn and snigger over my general chit-chat, I’d love it if you’d cast a vote for me under arts + culture and/or lifestyle. You get two votes per category, so share the blog love amongst some other faves too.
I’m thinking about launching an e-newsletter in the new year and would love to know your thoughts. The survey will only take a minute or two to complete and entrants will be entered into a draw to win a £10 Amazon voucher.
Thank you for the mention, spreading the Cornish love!

Some really great ones here – I’m the same as you, reading loads. On my Feedly feed I’ll have about 200 posts to read at any given time. I love reading such a diverse mix of blogs!
