And just like that we’re a whole week into September! I’ve got to say, the weather isn’t half confusing me. I don’t mind autumn coming a smidge early but when we have the odd sunny day I don’t know what to do with myself. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this week.
Jenson made friends with the neighbours’ cats and it’s super cute. Here’s one flirting with him and rolling over for a belly rub. Jenson loves animals and wants to be friends with all of them, so I often have to remind him that we ask nicely if we can say hi first. These ones are big ol’ softies though.
All of the books
I’ve reviewed a fair few books this week (The Truth About Love, The Truth About Writing, The Incendiaries and What Would Boudicca Do?); The Truth About Writing is my fave. It doesn’t hurt that it goes so well with my favourite notebook.
Everyone needs a queen who sends them messages like this at the start of the week. I was so grateful to have the extra time yesterday; I wrote a blog post and organised my 12 Days of Christmas giveaways. Plus Jenson had a fun walk and saw a load of farm animals. Everyone’s a winner. Except Dom who had to carry Jenson because he was lazy.
I met my mum and aunt in town and, rather than order my usual latte, I went crazy and ordered a strawberry milkshake and bakewell slice. Nom!
And then proceeded to buy myself these cakes. Well, I bought them for the gram (#sorrynotsorry) but it would have been rude to not eat them. Again, they go so well with my notebook!
I’ve been lucky enough to spend time with my parents and niece and nephew over the last couple of days. I think we might have a quiet couple of days over the weekend; maybe a trip to the library and a bike ride. Jenson has come on so well with his balance bike in the last few months. He’s flying along – and scaring the crap out of me!
Have a lovely weekend.
