I recently posted a review of the e-book Become A Freelance Writer and want to encourage any budding writers out there to check out Creative-Bloc. It’s a social enterprise which provides freelance writers with a network to share ideas, resources and opportunities. Register before July for free and you can create your own profile, contact fellow writers and browse job listings. Plus, if you’re a student, you can have free membership for the duration of your course, and a year’s free membership upon graduation!
It’s the blog in particular which I highly recommend, especially if you’re thinking about launching a career as a freelance writer. The e-book, by Creative-Bloc founder Rachael Oku, is a fantastic resource, and the blog is a great extension of that, featuring posts from a range of writers, who blog about such topics as recommended apps for freelance writers, how to pitch magazine articles and how much you should charge for your freelance services. Here are some other handy posts and links from Creative-Bloc:
- Building an online presence (part 1 and 2)
- A freelancer’s introduction to writing for the web
- Words of wisdom for freelancers
- Use Creative-Bloc to your advantage
- E-book review: How to write for money

Check it out and let me know what you think. And please share any other sites you find useful for writing.
