In addition to last week’s awesome dinosaur excursion, I also joined the family for a day in Falmouth. As part of Falmouth Week, there was jousting at Pendennis Castle and the Red Arrows flew over Falmouth harbour – plenty to see and do!
Pendennis Castle is rather spectacular. The views were incredible – even though I didn’t make it quite to the top (not me pictured!).
Wandering around the inside offered lots to peruse. In one room they even had fake canon fire.
We didn’t hang around for much of the actual jousting (ten year olds have short attention spans!) but the crowd seemed to enjoy it.
To kill time between the jousting and Red Arrows, we got the boat over to St Mawes for a cream tea – like you do! The ride was a bit choppier than last time!
We went to The View cafe for our cream tea. The servings were huge – highly recommended. And they don’t call it The View for nothing. You’ve got a perfect view of the water, even if you’re sat back on the sofas rather than at a window table.
Even after the cream tea, we still had a bit of a wait for the Red Arrows display. To guarantee a good spot, we sat in the same place for over an hour! Totally worth it though. Even the kid was impressed!
It might be hard to believe but this is actually a heart with an arrow through it. It was a bit cloudy…
