Tried and tested: Nutella pastry swirls

A few weeks ago I shared a pic on Instagram of these incredible pastry swirls which Luke concocted. They’re so freakin’ fantastic that I have to share his recipe.

This recipe makes approximately ten swirls but be warned – each one is about 180 calories. But sooo tasty!

You will need:
One sheet of puff pastry
One jar of Nutella
A pinch of flour
One egg

Pre-heat oven to Gas Mark 6

Sprinkle flour over a baking tray/use greaseproof paper

Place pastry on baking tray and spread Nutella thinly over the top. One sheet requires about four heaped table spoons of Nutella. Spread as close to the edge as possible

When the sheet is covered, lick the spoon – very important!

Roll the pastry up so that it looks like a swiss roll

Cut the roll into pieces which are approximately 1.5cm thick

Crack an egg for egg wash and brush over the pastry. This will make it crispy

Pop in the oven for about ten minutes

Allow to cool for a few minutes (the Nutella is like molten lava!) and enjoy!

    1. Found out last night that if you can’t manage them all in one go, pop them in the fridge and they’re great the next day too 🙂
