What’s a girl to do when she wants to get back into writing/blogging but doesn’t know where to start? I’ve exhausted various social networking platforms – Blogger, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, tumblr, pinterest, LiveJournal… I started out as an angsty teen blogging about my day-to-day life, then I focused purely on film and built up quite a substantial fanbase and network of collaborators. Then I started a teaching degree and blogged primarily about that in order to extend my contacts in that area and share resources. And now? Over the last few years I’ve discovered that there’s more to life than just film (shocking, I know!) And now that I’ve started a lovely job which I can leave at the office and actually have ‘me time’ again, I’d love to get back into writing. The thing is, there’s so much I want to talk about – film, television, books, fashion, lifestyle, etc.
Since moving in with the boyfriend, I’ve also become something of a thrifty-housewife-type and actually get excited over ‘cool’ tea towels. Oh, and we’re expecting our first child in May 2015, so join me and this little blog as we find our feet together.
I also want to use this blog to share my finds from my favourite sites. In particular, I have discovered lots of independent retailers recently and I’d like to share some of their fabulous work, especially those in not-so-sunny Cornwall. I tend to link these things over on Facebook and Twitter and I have an addiction to Pinterest, but I want to keep everything in one place and provide a platform to discuss and share ideas with other awesome folk. So if that sounds like something you’d be interested in, keep reading and don’t forget to comment and share some of your own favourite things.
Anything that I have been sent to review will feature an asterisk next to the item, as well as a note at the end of the post. I won’t review items that I feel don’t fit in with the tone of the blog and will always review items honestly.
