Cornwall Film Festival 2013 Lineup

cornwall film festival 2013

The Cornwall Film Festival’s 2013 programme was announced earlier today and I thought I’d share the screenings I’m most looking forward to. I say looking forward to as if I’m going to go, which I strongly doubt as I haven’t made it since it made the move from Falmouth to Newquay. Nevertheless, if you’re heading that way, these are the flicks you’ll definitely want tickets for:

  • Blue is the Warmest Colour – the most talked about film of the year (aka ‘The Lesbian Film’)
  • Prince Avalanche – the latest from former indie prince David Gordon Green
  • Mark Kermode in Conversation – Britain’s most prolific film critics chats with festival goers
  • The Dodge Brothers – Mark Kermode performs with his skiffle band
  • Getting Around the F Words: Funding and Finance for Film – a discussion about film finance, something I’d be interested to attend (even thought my first attempt at a feature screenplay has been on pause for months)
  • Sunshine on Leith – a film Kermode was quick to recommend at his book signing last week
  • Don Jon – Jo Go’s directorial debut. Yes, please!
  • What’s the Story? How to Develop a Good Idea into a Story and a Script – another interesting discussion for a first-time screenwriter
  • The Selfish Giant – the second feature from the woman behind The Arbor
