Zooey Deschanel has a new rival in the quirky TV and music girl crush area – make that two new rivals – in the shape of Garfunkel and Oates.
Luke spotted the show on Netflix and thought I might like it. One episode in and I was hooked and a quick IMDB search revealed that stars Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci (you might recognise her from Scrubs and The Big Bang Theory) are a comedy-folk duo in real life too.
Kinda like a female Flight of the Conchords (but way cooler), the girls sing about real-life experiences – even getting your eggs frozen! There is so much here that women in their late twenties/thirties can relate to and it’s all so freakin’ hilarious.
Unfortunately, the show is only eight episodes long but it’s totally worth a watch on Netflix. They’ve also just released a special on Vimeo which you can rent for £3.99 or buy for £6.99.
