If you follow my social media accounts you may have noticed that the other day I shared a sneak preview of a new recipe post – this recipe post! And, I shit you not, this is the tastiest, quick and easy meal you will ever come across. Are you ready to try Luke’s pizza wraps?
The other day we were pondering what to do for dinner and Luke made up some wraps with ham and cheese – with a difference. He fried them off to seal them and it tasted hella good! Then he got to thinking – what if you filled the wraps with pizza toppings? And the pizza wraps were born. And eaten. A lot!
You will need:
One large wrap (or two depending on how greedy you are – remember, you’ll need room for dessert! More on that in a bit!)
Pizza topping sauce/tomato puree
Cheese
Salami
One egg
A splash of olive oil
Step 1: Drizzle some olive oil in a frying pan. Crack the egg in a mug and lightly beat
Step 2: Cut off a chunk of salami, peel the skin off, slice thinly and cut each slice into quarters
Step 3: Grate a good chunk of cheese – you might want to nibble some as you go…
Step 4: Heat the oil over a low heat
Step 5: Spread a thin layer of pizza topping sauce over your wrap
Step 6: Add a generous sprinkling of cheese
Step 7: Place your salami on top, taking care not to over-fill your wrap
Step 8: Fold the wrap over into a parcel
Step 9: Egg wash over the top to seal
Step 10: Pop in the pan on low to medium heat and flatten with spatula
Step 11: Egg wash the other side while in the pan and gently flip after about a minute
Step 12: Brown on both sides
Step 13: Enjoy!
Now for dessert! For a sickeningly sweet dessert (best not to have these every day!), just replace the pizza topping sauce with Nutella…
and the cheese and salami with mini marshmallows (Luke says sprinkle marshmallows in your mouth first!)…
and add a good dollop of clotted cream when it’s cooked. Yum!
Let me know what you think!
