Exploring Cornwall: The Front Room, Penzance

Everyone has a go-to coffee place. Mine isn’t Starbucks, Costa or Cafe Nero, it’s The Front Room in Penzance.

It’s a genuinely warm and welcoming cafe, which serves brunch all day and always has a great selection of cakes. The customer service is great, with someone there to say hi when you walk through the door and help you find a spot to sit and relax – and it’s the most child-friendly place I’ve ever eaten in! They’re always quick to offer a highchair, there’s a spot under the stairs filled with cushions and toys for babies to sit and play, plus there’s further seating upstairs with more toys and books. I’ve even had a waitress take my food back to the kitchen to keep it warm while I gave Jenson a bottle when he was tiny.

The food is incredible (always cooked fresh) and I’m making my way through the menu. I think the pancakes with fruit and syrup is my fave but a slice and cake with a latte always makes for a good pit-stop.

It’s a beautiful little place with cute scatter cushions, fun lighting and lovely bits of wall art. Thumbs up all round!

Where’s your favourite place for coffee, cake and a good natter with a friend?
