It was my mum’s birthday last week and I treated her to afternoon tea at the St Ives Harbour Hotel and Spa. It was lovely to spend some time relaxing on our own. In fact, it was only when I was sat in the restaurant gazing out to sea that I realised it was the first time we’d been out on our own since Jenson was born! Proper quality mother/daughter time.
The hotel really is beautiful; stunningly decorated and furnished, classy and inviting. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the views were incredible. We were lucky enough to get a window view overlooking the beach so we really got to enjoy our tasty treats in style.
The food selection was perfect. Scrummy finger sandwiches and an impressive selection of cakes, including warm scones with a very generous helping of jam and cream. My eyes were bigger than my belly and I was defeated by the final scone.
I managed to get a voucher in last year’s Black Friday sales, so it was a bargain. I’ll be keeping an eye out for a spa day next time. I was hoping ke could go before my maternity leave ended but couldn’t afford it and now I’ve been back at work almost a year and remain unpampered. Fingers crossed I can return soon.
I’d love it if you could take five minutes to complete my reader survey. You’ll even be entered into a giveaway!

I went here last year for a baby shower and sadly wouldn’t go back, the service I was not impressed with but the place on the other hand is beautiful. I did sympathy though for the stressed staff as they also had a wedding venue on so maybe over booked themselves :/
Ah maybe. My boss got married there last year and seemed to have a good day. Want to try the spa
