There’s no #LittleLoves linky for a few weeks so I’m bringing back my Friday Favourites for August.
It pains me that Jenson has had a week of late nights so I’m having to backdate the blog posts I’d planned for the week. Here’s a look at our busy week.
We’ll start with a little moan. For the last few weeks I’ve had to go into the doctors for daily appointments and, to make it work around my commute, I’ve been getting up at 5.45am Monday-Wednesday so that I can work 8-1.45pm and get back into Penzance for late afternoon appointments. Despite Jenson’s lack of naps, he’s been going to bed around 9pm and my early starts has meant that I’ve followed suit. I still haven’t seen this week’s Game of Thrones and haven’t been able to blog at night. Double boo.
For the last couple of nights we’ve been sleeping in this gorgeous bed, however. My mum has been a bit poorly and isn’t able to use her hands at the moment (long, gross story) so Jenson and I moved in to help while I’m off work. How gorgeous is the bedding in her spare room?
Nanny’s kitchen is always full of tasty treats for the grandbabies and I’ve rediscovered the joy of Babybel! I think I’m gonna have to start getting them in for my own lunches.
I’ve also had a good post week. Jenson’s Peppa Pig picture book has really helped with new words so we decided to order a few more from Amazon. ‘Unfortunately’ it fell just below the free postage cut-off so I ‘had’ to order myself a book too. After much scrolling through my wish list, I decided to buy the Hufflepuff edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. I know it’s hard to believe given how big a nerd I am but I’ve never read the Harry Potter books! I’ve seen all the films because my brother was a fan from the beginning – again, I’ve read/watched the wrong way round! I’ve been meaning to give the books a go for a few years but I haven’t been able to commit to a series of covers! When I saw these 20th anniversary editions I knew it was time, especially at £3.99 per paperback. Of course, I had to re-take The Quiz to make sure I was buying the right house. Turns out I’m still a Hufflepuff.
I also received a signed proof of Jane Harper’s Force of Nature, which was a fun surprise. The publishers sent it to me because I loved her debut, The Dry, and I can’t wait to get stuck into it on the bus next week. It’s not due to be published until February so I’m so excited to get an early read.
Finally, I also received a notebook from Creoly to review. It looks set to become a new go-to for bullet journalers, so look out for a review in the next week or two.
And that’s our week! Hopefully over the rest of the weekend we can squeeze in a couple of trips to the park. The weather doesn’t seem to know what it wants to do at the moment, with blue skies and random showers. Fingers crossed! The kid needs to sleep so I can catch up on Game of Thrones!
