You know what makes turning 32 bearable, especially when you’re working on your birthday for the first time in years? Lovely people gifting you a shit tonne of books, stationery and self-care goodies. I’m bleddy lucky to have such awesome people in my life. I know these posts can be a bit cringey, but here are some pics in case you’re looking for some Christmas shopping ideas – all come highly recommended.
And this was my favourite card – it plays music and everything!
Now my birthday is over, I can focus on Christmas. You may have noticed that I brought back my 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways and I had so much fun putting these together. Thanks to everyone who took the time to enter and share the posts. The winners’ prizes are now en-route. If you missed out this time, look out for more giveaways in the new year.
Of course, Christmas can be a stressful time and I’ve been doing my best to look after myself. I still love a mindful photography sesh when Jenson and I go out for leaf walks at the weekend.
Whereas before I used to have to remind myself to look up and pay attention to the detail, now I’m in the habit of looking down…
I had a pre-birthday lunch and cinema date with Jenson to see the eagerly-anticipated Frozen 2. We both loved it and plan to see it again – multiple times. Controversial opinion: it might be better than the first. Although that may just be because we haven’t watched it to death yet.
We’ve had a fair few treats lately. Luke’s sister came down the other day and we headed to The Cornish Barn for some deluxe hot chocolates.
It’s one of my favourite places in Penzance and it’s so cosy this time of year.
I mentioned recently how much I’m loving mindful magazines at the moment and I adore the recent covers on The Simple Things.
That’s not all I’ve been reading. Abrams & Chronicle sent me a copy of The (Other) F Word and it instantly became one of my books of the year – review coming soon.
What has made you smile lately?
