I flipping love Goodreads. I love seeing what my friends are reading, I love the monthly emails reminding me about new releases from writers I’ve read before, and I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with the annual challenge.
2020 was the first year I didn’t smash my target. 60 would have been easy if I had kept up the three-hour round trip for work three days a week but, while I love working from home and the time and money it saves on travelling, I miss having that empty time for reading.
Of course, the Challenge isn’t just about the target – I flipping love the data it provides too!

Quite a collection, ey? Most written by women, largely contemporary fiction and self-help, some poetry, a couple of re-reads, some fantasy… But what will 2021 hold?
In case you missed it, I treated myself to an electric blanket recently – hands down, the best decision I’ve ever made. I love crawling into my warm bed in the evening and reading a few chapters of my book, and I’m hoping to make it more of a habit for 2021.
I’m expecting to work from home for the forseeable, so I’ve set a modest target of 25. I’ve also just discovered I have 79 unread books, so I must get cracking on the TBR stacks before I start buying any more/return to the library. Wish me luck! And, y’know, do leave recommendations.
I love looking through challenges too. You read some great books, The Giver of Stars is one of my all-time favourites!

I’m a sucker for books about books š
I definitely want to read more this year (I always say this, but that’s besides the point lol).
Loved the look of The Flat Share (I’m assuming this is a romance? If so, I LOVE romances) One of Us is Next and Queenie. I’ll have to keep my eye out for them.
Thank you for this post ā¤ļøx
Oh, and completely forgot to mention ā but I’d definitely recommend The Secret by Katerina Diamond (or literally any book from her) if you’re into crime/detective books x
Ooh, thanks! Will add to the list š
This was so fun to see! I read quite a few of the same books as you this year and so I’m definitely going to check out some of the others you’ve read that I haven’t!
