There’s something special about slowing down over the summer, trying something new, and making time for creativity. Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill, spend an evening with friends, or simply enjoy a couple of hours away from the everyday, my summer creative wellbeing workshops have something for everyone.
From junk journaling and modern calligraphy to clay modelling and watercolours, every workshop is designed to help you switch off, connect with others, and rediscover the joy of making something with your own hands. No experience is needed – just come along and enjoy the process.
Kick things off with Junk Journaling
Tuesday 4 August | 6.30–8.30pm
The Coach House Café, Penlee Park
I’m so excited to be launching my summer workshops at The Coach House Café with an evening dedicated to junk journaling.
If you’ve never tried it before, junk journaling is all about seeing the beauty in the everyday. Old maps, packaging, book pages, tickets, wrapping paper, ribbons, magazines… the things we’d usually throw away suddenly become inspiration for something completely unique. It’s mindful, creative, wonderfully relaxing and there are no rules.
I’ll bring along plenty of papers and embellishments for everyone to use, but if you’ve got anything tucked away at home that you’re happy to share, please do bring it along – one person’s junk really is another person’s treasure!
I’m also thrilled that my wonderful sponsors at Skittledog are providing every attendee with a copy of Junk This Journal, so you’ll leave with plenty of inspiration to keep creating at home.

Your £22 ticket also includes:
- A glass of Prosecco or a refreshing presse on arrival
- A delicious sharing platter with sandwiches, cheese, crackers, dips and cakes
Learn Modern Calligraphy
Friday 7 August | 1.30–3.30pm
Morrab Library
If you’ve always admired beautiful hand lettering but weren’t sure where to start, this beginner-friendly workshop is for you.
We’ll work through the basic brush strokes before building up to the full lowercase alphabet, giving you the confidence to continue practising at home.
Everything is provided, including a brush pen for you to keep.
£15 per person.

Get Creative with Clay
Tuesday 11 August | 6.30–8.30pm
The Coach House Café
We’re heading back to The Coach House Café for another creative evening, this time exploring FIMO air-dry clay.
Whether you fancy making decorative pieces, keepsakes, or simply enjoying the process of creating with your hands, this workshop is all about slowing down and having fun.
Thanks to my lovely friends at STAEDTLER, you’ll also receive extra materials to take home so you can carry on creating afterwards.

Your £22 ticket includes:
- All materials and a take-home kit
- A Prosecco or presse on arrival
- A sharing platter with sandwiches, cheese, crackers, dips and cakes
A Summer Evening at Polgoon Vineyard
Friday 21 August | 6.30–8.30pm
I’m incredibly excited to be hosting my first workshop at Polgoon Vineyard. Even better, it’s taking place on the same evening as Jemela’s Mermaid Alley pop-up, meaning you can enjoy delicious food alongside an evening of creativity.
We’ll be experimenting with colourful brush pens thanks to sponsor Pentel. Everyone will receive three colour brush pens, a pencil, ruler and eraser – worth more than £30.
Tickets are just £15, with food and drinks available to purchase separately.

Creative Fun for Families
I’m also delighted to be running family-friendly workshops at Morrab Library throughout the summer holidays.
They’re a great opportunity to get creative together, and parents are very welcome to stay and supervise if they’re not taking part themselves.

Keep the Creativity Going
If you discover a love of journaling over the summer, my regular creative journaling workshops continue at Morrab Library throughout the year.
The next session takes place on Friday 14 August from 1.30–3.30pm.
Bring your own notebook and I’ll provide everything else, including plenty of creative supplies and hot drinks. Tickets are £12.

I’d Love to See You There
One of my favourite things about these workshops isn’t just the creativity – it’s the conversations, laughter and encouragement that happen around the table. People arrive saying they’re “not creative”, and leave amazed by what they’ve made.
So whether you’re coming on your own, bringing a friend, or making it part of a summer catch-up, you’ll be made to feel very welcome.
Booking is essential.
To reserve your place, simply email e.farley27@gmail.com.
If you’re booking for either of the Coach House Café workshops, please let me know about any allergies or dietary requirements, along with whether you’d prefer a glass of Prosecco or a presse on arrival.
I can’t wait to get creating with you this summer.
