Nosy Crow is one of my favourite children’s book publishers and I’m so excited about their latest release. Out tomorrow, HerStory is a highly-stylised stunner of a book, featuring the lives of inspiring women.
Before we go any further, let’s just take a minute to swoon over this beautiful cover and what hides underneath the jacket.
HerStory is a must-read for young women everywhere, packed full of ass-kicking female role models. It’s a cross between Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls and Bygone Badass Broads, featuring historical figures as well as contemporary icons. This encyclopaedia of girl power features everyone from Mother Theresa to Malala, and includes the likes of Emmeline Pankhurst, Anne Frank, Frida Kahlo and Marie Curie.
It’s split into categories titled Believe & Lead, Imagine & Create, Help & Heal, Think & Solve and Hope & Overcome, encouraging girls of all abilities and interests. Hopefully it’ll inspire future leaders, scientists and activists.
Unlike most educational books, HerStory is so beautifully presented that you can’t help but fall for its charm and find yourself instantly engrossed.
“One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.” – Malala Yousafzai
I was sent a copy of this book for review purposes and all thoughts are my own

Wow, the illustrations in this book are absolutely delightful! A book as important as this deserves good illustrations, though, it does sound amazing. I’m gonna have to keep my eyes out for it at the library!
