We talk about ‘when all this is over’ a lot in our house. I realise now how much we took the little things for granted, like going to the park, hanging out with my niece and nephew, and ice cream shops. Getting through a summer without Jelberts ice cream is gonna be rough!
I put together this rainbow spread in my bujo and thought I’d share it here.

Not long before Lockdown, my brother and his family moved down the road. We hung out a lot at the weekend, had meals together, took the kids to the park… and then we couldn’t. We’ve seen each other at a distance a few times but, I’ll tell ya, nothing hurts like having your two-year-old niece come running up to you and not being able to scoop her up for a big hug.
Since going back to work after having Jenson, I’ve only ever read on the bus, as I just don’t get the time. Since completing this spread, I’ve actually adapted a bit and started reading again! I’ve realised that I can find pockets of time if I keep a book by the sofa and ditch the mindless scrolling. Whodda thunk it!
The cinema is one of my favourite places. Pre-Jenson, I went at least once a week. Post-Jenson it’s become more like once a month but I’d recently gotten into the habit of going solo again. And now the cinemas are shut! I’d like to say I’m watching more films at home but I think the only film I’ve seen post-Lockdown film that wasn’t chosen by Jenson was 10 Things I Hate About You. I’m watching more TV shows though. I’m all caught up on Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19, I’m getting back into season three of This is Us season, I’ve nearly finished Normal People, and Luke and I recently started on Tales From the Loop. Not too bad for someone who usually only watches Neighbours!
I really need to start one of those ideas jars for Jenson, so he can write down all the things he wants to do post-Lockdown and we can pull them out at random ‘when all of this is over’. He’s missed out on so much and I really hope that restrictions are eased at least a little bit in time for his birthday in a few weeks. It would be nice to have a picnic or BBQ with his cousins.
Of course, we’ve all had things put on hold. The biggest one for me is Stationery Show London – it’s my annual treat to myself. Two whole days and one night away from home! Fingers crossed it will still go ahead in September.
What are you most looking forward to?
Lovely post, Emma! I enjoyed reading it. 🙂 I’m looking forward to catching the bus to the next village or town as I like going in the charity shops. I mainly buy secondhand books but sometimes look at clothes, jigsaws etc. Also having a routine of going to my local library van, as it’s my self-care time. I love your idea jar thought. I hope Jenson has a nice birthday too! Take care. 🙂 xx
