As the weeks go by and both myself and baby get bigger, I’m reminded of the inevitable: he’s going to keep getting bigger and then he’s gotta come out! It’s easy to put it at the back of your mind in the earlier weeks, when you’re just trying to get through the day without throwing up, but when things start to settle down and you get past the halfway point there’s no running away from it.
And whodda thunk new symptoms would keep popping up left, right and centre? I have the joy of acid reflux, the occasional middle of the night leg cramps and, my new favourite, restless leg. I woke up yesterday morning feeling rather stiff, longing for tonight’s yoga session. I went for the second time last week, having started to seize up a bit in the mornings after approximately ten hours in bed (I”m greedy with my sleep – better make the most of it now!), and I felt so much better for it! Some of the moves were a bit different to the first week and we’ve now been split into two groups, so these are the girls I’ll be with through my pregnancy and possibly further down the line at Baby Yoga. I like the idea of that. I’m already thinking about things I can be doing when the boyfriend goes back to work after baby comes along – Baby Yoga one day a week, Mum and Baby session so we can both socialise, plus Baby Aquatics with the boyfriend on one of his days off – fun!
Tomorrow we have another first – the first antenatal class. I don’t have a clue what to expect and we’ve got six weeks of classes – two hours on a Friday morning. I’ll let you know how it goes next week. In the meantime, do let me know how your antenatal classes went and if you benefited from them.
