Continuum: The new Fringe?

I love Fringe. It’s awesome. But sadly, like all awesome things, it must come to an end. I’m not necessarily looking for something to replace it. When Dawson’s Creek ended, I refused to replace it with The OC until halfway through the second season, and I didn’t replace that with One Tree Hill until the fifth season. What can I say, I seem to get into shows waaay after all the hype dies down.

With Continuum, the boyfriend was watching the pilot one day and I caught it halfway through. I thought it was a naff TV movie and completely dismissed it, but he series linked it and I caught dribs and drabs of the next couple of episodes until I realised it was actually pretty cool and went back to the beginning. Now that I’m caught up I’m hooked. It will never have the edge that Fringe does (it’ll need Joshua Jackson for that) but it’s a fairly entertaining sci-fi/crime/drama that’ll keep me amused for an hour a week. It’s the kind of show that my mum would call ‘far fetched twaddle’ but, like Lost and Fringe, it’s the characters that keep me coming back. If you liked Lost and Fringe (and if not, why the hell not?!), you should definitely check this out.

Continuum is on Syfy on Thursdays at 10pm.
