19 weeks – nearly halfway! So time to start making some key purchases methinks…
After the first hospital appointment I insisted on making the obligatory walk around Mothercare and fell instantly in love with the Cosatto Fable travel system. It has everything the child will need for the first couple of years – pushchair/pram in one, on account of the carry cot, changing bag, raincover, etc, plus, until 28 January, it comes with a free matching car seat! The colour scheme will work for a girl or boy and it isn’t so feminine that the boyfriend would feel uncomfortable using it.
We decided to hold off until after Christmas to order it, once some of the initial appointments were out of the way and we had somewhere to store it. The baby’s room is something of a dumping ground at the moment, housing the filing cabinet, bookcase (hiding behind the door), various photography supplies and other bits and pieces so I had to make an effort to clear it out to make room for baby purchases.
I’ve been through all of the recommended shopping lists from various pregnancy publications and made my own which I’ll share next week. I’m hoping to tick off some more of the biggies over the next couple of months and then we’ll register on Mothercare, Argos and Vertbaudet for the extra bits in time for the baby shower. Exciting!
