10 things I love about my dad

In honour of Father’s Day, I’m dedicating today’s blog post to my dad. Here are just ten reasons why he’s so bleddy awesome. Happy Father’s Day!

1. He’ll do anything for his kids. When we moved house recently he came round and painted and wallpapered, no questions asked
2. He’s a great grandad. Before I got pregnant (and was therefore unaffected by baby hormones!) I loved watching him with my nephew. His little face lights up whenever he sees him (so does Logan’s!) and one of his first words was ‘grandad’

3. He’s always been there for everything – good or bad. He was always the one to hold our hands when we were in hospital
4. He read us bedtime stories – with voices!
5. He’s supportive of our decisions – even when I left my first uni and move back home to start again

6. He concocts rather than cooks but it always tastes good
7. He cuts me flowers from his garden – sweetpeas are my fave
8. My parents have an open door policy. You know how in Neighbours the Kennedys are always taking in waifs and strays? My parents have housed loads of our friends (and virtual strangers) over the years out of the goodness of their hearts. N’aww!
9. He’s a total dork and can always make me laugh, whether it’s dressing up to scare the kids on Halloween or dancing with the dog on a lazy, weekend morning
10. He knows how to rock a Christmas cracker hat!

Make sure your dad knows how awesome he is today!
