One of my goals this year was to be more creative. I’m always rushing from one thing to the next without taking the time to relax and clear my head. When I get the chance, I find journaling, hand lettering and crafting to be so beneficial. It’s a much-needed digital detox and gives my mind a chance to wander, allowing me to be more inspired and creative in the long run.
Although Christmas is traditionally a very busy time of year, it’s important to slow down a bit too, so I seized the opportunity last weekend to open my Clara Christmas activity box.
The box contains everything you need to make a reindeer brooch and two tree decorations, plus there are two cards to colour, with colouring pencils and envelopes.
I have to admit, I found it a bit daunting, as my post-school days sewing activities have been primarily restricted to sewing on buttons, but the box comes with full instructions and handy template shapes.
The tree decoration seemed the most straightforward so I started with that. Jenson was very impressed: “You made a tree! Good tree, Mummy!” So I’m taking that as a win. Just don’t look too closely at those edges!
Once I got going, I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to trying the other two pieces. Jenson has been helping me with the Christmas cards. Keep an eye on my Stories to see my future creations.
To be in with a chance of winning an activity kit, just complete the Gleam entries below before midnight Tuesday 11 December. A winner will be drawn at random and contacted directly. They will have a week to respond before an alternative winner is selected. UK entries only.
