My 12 Days of Christmas giveaways continue with the ultimate gift for people looking to slow down over the festive period.
Slow Box, formerly Hygge Box, is a fab subscription service, offering recipients the chance to take a moment to slow down and savour the moment. Products featured are ethical and showcase the work of sustainable small businesses.
I’ve taken to indulging in hot drinks, long baths and moments of quiet as the winter approaches and this box is perfect. I received a vase, two candles (including one with a difference – more on that in a bit), a tea cake and drinking chocolate.
This was the first I’d heard of skin candles and it certainly won’t be the last one I light. The sloe gin skin candle smells incredible and is an ideal addition to those aforementioned baths. Light one before you soak and then, when it’s time to jump out, extinguish the flame and rub the soft balm into your skin.
All of the products featured in this box were sourced in Scotland, where the company is based, so it was great to be introduced to new products. The Arran candle also featured a beautiful scent and the ‘wild gorse’ name was reflective of the smell and its original home. A lovely gift idea or something to keep for yourself. I’m loving my growing candle collection.
I can’t get enough hot chocolate at the moment and can’t resist a quirt of cream or marshmallow topping. I kept it simple with this salted caramel drinking chocolate from The Shetland Fudge Company as the flavour is something to be savoured.
