Last week was pretty uneventful after the previous week’s half term activities, but in a good way. I rediscovered the joy of Instagram, thanks to Little Paper Swan’s #AutumnHashtagChallenge, I found time for daily lettering, and I got stuck into a few podcasts.
Lettering
The #RockYourLettering challenge has encouraged me to explore new ways of lettering and I’ve had fun writing on pumpkins and adding doodles.
Podcasts
I’ve always said I don’t have time for podcasts because I need to listen to them properly, not just have them on in the background. But I’ve started putting them on when I’m doing housework or on the commute having just finished a book and I’ve got a lot out of them. Recent favourites include Jess Who’s The Co-Working Podcast Episode 6 ā How to Find More Joy in Your Work with Sophie Cliff, Sara Tasker’s Hashtag Authentic Episode 75: Staying happy and sane online, with Fiona Thomas, and Simple & Season’s Grow With Soul Episode 50 Making Choices, Getting Out of Stuck-ness, Self-Celebration and Finding Your Everyday Joy with Tamu Thomas.
I’ve been focusing on self-care, self-love, and self-compassion lately, and now I’m learning to explore self-celebration. I recently added a monthly page to my bullet journal where I write down something I’m proud of each day, and I’m rather proud of the fact that I’ve been able to note something every day for over two months.
Like I said, it’s been a bit of a quiet one. I’ve been able to get Jenson asleep by 7.30pm most nights, which means I’ve been able to get creative in the evenings and still get to bed at a decent hour. I wonder how long that routine will last for…
Have a great week š
