What’s in my pencil case: Jo from Oops a Daisy

Welcome back to my new series: ‘What’s in my pencil case’. You know how you can find out a lot about a person when you look through their bookshelves or DVD collection? Well, I love having a nose through someone’s pencil case, so I’ve started a guest blogger series. This month I’m welcome Jo from Oops a Daisy as my fifth guest blogger.

I am a total stationery addict… I have ALWAYS loved stationery, the best thing about going back to school for a new year is the opportunity to get myself a new pencil case from WHSmiths or Memo!

These days I have too much to fit into a traditional style pencil case. I do most of my journaling at home, so luckily I don’t have the issue of having to choose which pens I take with me on the go.

My Pencil Case:

I actually use a wooden cutlery organiser from Next to store all of my regular use pens and pencils. Its handy because there are spaces to organise my pens and then a larger slot where my Oops a Daisy stencils fit! I attach a little bungee cord with binder clips on the handle and string my most used washi on it… it totally works for me!

Fineliner

For writing and drawing I have a set of Staedtler Pigment Liner Fineliners. They come in a variety of thicknesses depending on the style and size of the font that I’m using.

Brush Pens

I’m a Tombow girl for my brush pens. I use these to add colour (who doesn’t love a drop shadow…) I’m not great at Brush calligraphy, this is something I’d like to improve in 2020. But I do a good line in faux calligraphy and this works for me for now…

Highlighters

I’ve recently jumped on the bandwagon for Zebra Mildliners. Why did it take me so long to take the plunge?! I love the colour tones these pens come in, so handy for decorating a page, but also to highlight when an item on my to do list has been done.

Other Pens…

The other pens in my kit include Papermania Metallic pens (great for this time of year) and Sakura Gelly Roll pens in white – good to add detail to a dark coloured section of a page or to do “blackout” journaling.

Best of the rest: My top 5 stationery accessories:

Binder Clip – great for holding a page open in your journal

Corrector Pen – I make so many mistakes; I couldn’t live without this!

Washi – Well duh! Are you even a Bullet journal enthusiast if you don’t have a small addiction to colourful tape – I actually wrote a blog page all about my favourite uses for washi!

Stencils – I couldn’t forget stencils… OBVIOUSLY Oops a Daisy branded! I honestly do use my stencils every day – they make my journal set up so much quicker!

Ruler – A must have, great for making sure my highlighting is straight!
