I’d been meaning to try a 160gsm bullet journal for a while but mainly for lettering purposes. I’m in a bit of a Catch-22 with journals, as I like to letter and I like a lot of pages, but the higher the gsm, the lower the page number. When I saw that Notebook Therapy had a sale on their Tsuki 160gsm journal towards the end of last year, I politely requested a copy for my birthday. Here are a few thoughts.

This beauty comes in ‘mint matcha’ or ‘pink sakura’ and both have gilded pages – the mint has gold and the pink has rose gold. All of the heart eyes! Plus the hardback cover is handcrafted with vegan leather.

As for features, the journal has a back pocket with stickers, single page ribbon, and elastic closure.

It’s 135x195mm with 128 pages and, as mentioned, the pages are 160gsm and bright white with 5mm light grey dots.
Ready for a pen test?

There’s a bit of a bleed with the Ecoline, which surprised me as 160gsm paper is meant to be perfect for those juicier pens and watercolours.

I had a go with some watercolour pencils too and was pleased to see no bleeding or ghosting, although the paper wasn’t quite as smooth as I’d liked (I guess that’s what you need for watercolours though?). I still prefer to watercolour on the Ecoline watercolour paper.

Notebook Therapy also stocks a set of four 120gsm bullet journals and a stunning ‘Night Time‘ edition which I’ve got my eye on, although I’d rather it was a black-out.

Have you tried Archer and Olive notebooks? They get very good reviews. 🙂
Yeah, I’m playing around with one now. I prefer it to the Tsuki but it’s not my favourite.
