Tried and tested: Remescar Stretch Marks

Since having Jenson nearly seven months ago, like most new mums, I’ve not been particularly happy with the way I look. Our bodies go through massive changes when we grow and birth children and it’s a big change to deal with – along with, ya know, raising a child! To make matters worse, my stretch marks were noticeably worse after I came home from the hospital; go figure. I’d tried a couple of creams (Cussons Mum & Me Bump Stretch Mark Cream and Mum and Me New Mum Stretch Mark Fader) with no joy, so when the opportunity came up to try Remescar’s very impressive-sounding stretch mark cream, I jumped at the chance.

According to Remescar, the stretch mark cream “is an innovative silicone based cream which improves and corrects all types of stretch marks. A clinical study performed by an independent laboratory showed that it reduces up to 50% of stretch marks severity on stomach, hips and legs in just 28 days!”

All I had to do was apply the cream religiously, twice a day for three months, and I should see results. Come the end of my trial, I was still unhappy with the appearance of my stretchmarks. Initially I wondered if this was because there were some days where I only applied the cream once (I challenge you to find any knackered new mum who follows a skincare routine every single night), but it was only when comparing my before and after shots that I realised what an improvement it had made. Sure, I still can’t stand the sight of them, but the colour is a lot less intense. They still feel incredibly dimply and gross (technical term!) but I don’t see any way of that being fixed. Overall, in retrospect, the Remescar stretch marks has improved the appearance of my stretch marks, so it definitely does what it says on the tin, so to speak.
