Don’t let the fact that it’s the weekend fool you – National Stationery Week is on ALL WEEK! And today is Diary Day, something I’m rather fond of, seeing as I own five diaries (really!).
Firstly, I have my Filofax. It was a gift from my parents when I graduated and I love it. It’s the one I carry around with me everywhere and I update it with new diary pages every year. I just wish I could keep it tidier/prettier inside. I see so many bloggers’ planner pages and wish I had the patience to beautify it a wee bit. But at least it looks good on the outside!
A week to two pages is fine for my personal diary but I like to keep my work diary separate and I need a day to a page for this. Plus, working at a university, I like to have an academic diary. I usually have a massive to do list for each day so I always highlight my meetings to make sure I don’t miss them.
Then I also have a separate diary to manage my blog posts. I track my item of the day posts (to ensure I keep mixing it up a bit) and planned daily posts on the left and leave notes for myself on the right. I don’t normally mind if it’s an academic or calendar year diary but I fell in love with this one when I saw it in Clinton Cards last year.
I received this gorgeous Joules diary for Christmas last year. It’s so pretty and I love the illustrations and quotes, particularly the pages that mark the start of each new month. I’ve not actually used it yet as the others are still in circulation but I’ll probably use it at the end of the year for the blog once the academic diary runs out.
Oh, and I also have a five-year one line a day diary which I plan on starting once The Boy is born. I thought it would be nice to record the first five years of his life.
How about you? Do you manage multiple diaries or do you prefer to keep things in one place? If you’re looking for something new, here are some favourites I’ve recently come across
