Four Things

I’ve seen this post doing the rounds on a few blogs lately and have borrowed from Life Outside London. If you’re writing a similar post, leave me a link below!

Four movies I have watched more than once
Whip It – made me fall in love with roller derby
Hitch – I can recite this line for line
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – my all-time fave
Eagle vs Shark – such a great indie rom-com

Four places I have visited
Belgium – I’m not very well traveled. The only time I have been out of the UK is on a school trip to see the war memorials
Bristol – whenever we can get away we head to Bristol to see nearby family and friends
Dundee – I did a summer working at Wimbledon and the Golf in Carnoustie. We stayed in Dundee for a wee bit but I didn’t see much of it
Derbyshire – I have family living there so I’ve visited a few times

derbyshire - bolsover castle

Four things I don’t eat
Turkish Delight – horrible chocolate!
Crunchies – as above
Sushi – never tried it but would like to
Tomatoes – I eat ketchup and don’t mind tomatoes in things but can’t eat them on their own. I don’t like the squidgy bits!

Four of my favourite books
To Kill A Mockingbird – everyone should read this
The Diary of Anne Frank – I finally read this way later than I should have
The Storyteller, or really anything by Jodi Picoult
The Bell Jar – a teen favourite

To Kill A Mockingbird

Four things I wish I could do
Draw – I would love to be able to do cute little illustrations for this blog
Speak another language fluently
Live more spontaneously
Drive – not that I want to or can even afford to. It would just make life a lot easier!

Four TV shows I watch
Neighbours – can’t miss an episode
Gossip Girl – just got hooked. Thanks maternity leave/Netflix!
The Good Wife – one of the few shows I watch that I’ve seen since it first aired rather than getting into it waaay later
Modern Family – a show I’ll watch if nothing else is on and get really into, even though I’ve only seen random episodes

Four things I’m looking forward to this year
Maternity leave – I’m only a couple of weeks in so knowing I don’t have to work until way after Christmas is great!
Becoming a mum – eight days to go. Maybe…
First Christmas as a family
Time together as a family – Luke has three weeks off when the baby is born plus another week not long after, then we have a week together for my birthday at the end of November. Plus maternity leave means we get to spend at least two days together a week rather than one day a fortnight. Yay!

Four subjects I studied at school
French
Spanish (I was made to take two languages – not happy!)
Food technology
English

Four things that were worth the money
My Macbook Pro – this is the only thing I’ve really spent a lot of money on, as we rent our house and don’t have a car. It’s lasted me well (touch wood!) and I wouldn’t be without it
My education – technically I haven’t really paid for it yet and sometimes I wonder how much it was really worth, especially considering how much we struggled during my PGCE, but I’m on an above average salary for Cornwall and I think my degree/grades has at least something to do with that
Cocktails – they’re expensive but oh so yummy!
Takeaways – I feel guilty for buying them but some days I just can’t be arsed to cook and clean up after!

Four things I can’t live without
My laptop
My phone
Luke – can I refer to him as a thing?!
Cuddles!

Now wasn’t that fascinating!
