I’ve been tagged by Manchester Flick Chick in a book tag and you know I love me a tag. I just can’t help sharing! Here’s the lowdown on me and my reading habits.
Would you rather only read trilogies or only read standalones?
I often get emotionally invested in characters and want to know more, so I love it when a book I like ends up becoming part of a series (The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic, Paper Aeroplanes, characters appearing in multiple Jodi Picoult novels…). I’d have to say trilogies so I could spend more time with awesome characters.
Would you rather only read male or female authors?
Well, I love John Green and Dennis Lehane but I also love Jodi Picoult, Sophie Kinsella, Holly Bourne, Jane Austen… More of my favourite books have been written by women so I guess, gun held to my head, I’d have to say female.
Would you rather shop at Waterstones or Amazon?
Amazon tends to be cheaper and more convenient but I love walking around Waterstones whenever I’m in a city. I can’t just walk past and always spend hours browsing, whereas on Amazon I just head there when I know I want something. They both have their uses – it’s Sophie’s Choice!
Would you rather books were made into TV shows or movies?
Again, because I get emotionally invested and always want more, I’d say TV shows.
Would you rather read only five pages per day or five books per week?
If I had more hours in the day, five books a week, easy. I read a lot on the bus and often hate it when I get to my destination, so five pages a day would be torture.
Would you rather be a professional author or reviewer?
Reviewer. I’m shit at creative writing and love losing myself in other people’s worlds.
Would you rather be a librarian or a bookseller?
When I was little I practically lived in the library and always took out the maximum allowance. I even played at being a librarian at home! Of course, if I was a bookseller I’d get discount, so I’d have to pick that.
Would you rather read only your favorite genre, or every other genre but your favorite?
I’m a lot less stuck in my ways than I used to be and read a broader range of novels but your favourite is your favourite for a reason… I couldn’t even say what my fave is now though. It used to be chick lit but now I’d probably say dramas…
Would you rather only read ebooks or physical books?
Physical books. I’d never own an e-reader.

I never thought about getting a staff discount being a book seller – bonus! I actually miss travelling on buses everyday because that was my allotted time to concentrate and read. Really interesting answers :o) Who is that chick-litt author who’s narratives always contain some kind of almost magical serendipity?
Cecelia Ahern? Sometimes I like it, other times I can’t stand it! Since becoming a mum I’ve had no time to read, apart from a book I forced myself to get through in time for a review deadline for the blog. It was worth it but I haven’t had that dedication since 🙁 Magazines are easier to dip in and out of but it took me a month to get through one issue of Glamour!
