It’s that time of the week again folks – time to take a minute to be grateful for all of the awesomeness the last week has brought, despite both myself and the baby drowning in snot. You’re welcome for that image BTW!
New Girl is back! When Jess and Nick broke up I worried that I’d fall out of the show a little bit but, even though it broke my heart, I found a way to power through. It’s still one of my favourite shows – and one of the few sitcoms that me and Luke enjoy watching together. Plus this season it’s fun to see how many ways they can find to hide Zooey’s bump and still keep her looking fabulous.
Redruth cinema. Luke turned the big 3-1 on Monday and all he wanted to do was see Warcraft. Now, y’all know me pretty well by now and know that it’s totally not my kinda film. But I’m a good girlfriend – the best even! – and we got our asses on the bus up to Redruth to see it on the big screen. Yep, Penzance is the only place not screening it this week, go figure! But man, Redruth cinema is a beauty! Despite a smaller screen than we’re used to, we had oodles of leg room, shared a comfy sofa and had little tables to put our drinks on. They even serve hot food in the screen! Will definitely have to give that a go next time.
Blogosphere subscription. When I saw that the latest issues of Blogosphere was released the other day I was a bit bummed. I usually order it straight away and have it delivered but dwindling funds meant that I’d have to wait til I had a spare few quid and pick it up in Smiths. Then guess what dropped through the letterbox?! I totally forgot that I subscribed when they announced their new subscription packages. Yeah, baby! Except, despite being on annual leave this week, I don’t really have the time to read it, so I’m almost looking forward to going back to work on Monday so I can read it on the bus.
Luke’s cooking. Jenson has been struggling with croup for the last week – it’s the poorliest he’s ever been and it’s been heart-breaking but it looks like he’s finally starting to feel better. Problem is, spending all that time with a poorly baby pretty much guarantees you’re gonna get sick too and he was kind enough to share his cold with me. Luke, bless him, has done a decent job at playing nurse and has cooked some yummy meals, including his awesome home-made soup (which I ate before remembering to take a photo. It’s that good!). He’s such a good egg.
Netflix recommendations. Lately we’ve been using Netflix to keep Jenson entertained, so most of the recommendations that come up are animated. Except every now and then Netflix recommends me some awesome stand-up featuring women. I’ve watched and loved Chelsea Peretti and Ali Wong and I’ve just discovered Jen Kirkman – I love her! I can’t wait to see what they recommend next.
Ooh, Google searching an image for this post just informed me that she has a new book out! Totally adding that to my ever-growing wish list…
Hope y’all have a lovely weekend!
