Happy Roald Dahl Day! You all know by now that I’m a sucker for a nerdy day and what better day to celebrate than Roald Dahl’s birthday?!
I’ve been a fan since around age seven, when we had The Twits read to us at school. It was my favourite Roald Dahl book until very recently, when I read Danny the Champion of the World for the first time. I think reading it as an adult gave me a perspective I may not otherwise have had and it has made it into my list of all-time favourite books.
I grew up watching the adaptations of Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and, while I’ve seen the animated version of The BFG, I still haven’t seen the Spielberg live action film. I really need to rectify that. If the merchandise is this magical can you imagine how great the film is?! If you’ve already seen it, let me know what you thought in the comments.
Roald Dahl HQ celebrate each year with these fun party packs which you can download, print off and put to good use in your own home. I had to have a crack at the character quiz (have I mentioned I love quizzes?) and, obviously, I’m Matilda.
Something I’m super excited about is the new personalised My Golden Ticket book from Wonderbly. I’m expecting my beautiful copy next week and I’ll be sharing a review and giveaway, so keep an eye out. I practically squealed just entering my personalised details!
How are you celebrating Roald Dahl Day?
