If there’s one thing I’ve learned lately, it’s that one person has the power to make change, be that positive or negative. It might sound cheesey to say out loud but it’s true. Every significant change in history has started with one person and their belief that they have this power.
Abrams + Chronicle have added to their growing catalogue of inspiring books with Make Change*, featuring art to inspire action. Looking through this book, I realised that there are small steps we can all take to encourage action and make change, be that big or small.
1. Focus on what matters
Don’t listen to the naysayers. If something is important to you, don’t let anything hold you back, even if people think that your goal is beyond your reach.
2. Showing up is half the battle
So many people get stuck on the idea of actually doing something that they can’t take that first step. Take it – the rest will come.
3. Believe
Believe in yourself and your potential to make change. That belief can be contagious.
4. Be tenacious
Be persistent. Be fearless. Be that dog with a bone who just will not let go.
5. Be outspoken
Believe in the courage of your convictions. Share your passion with others. Who knows, you might just start a revolution.
I was sent a copy of this book for review purposes and all thoughts are my own.
