Thor Ragnarok, Hashtag Authentic and a literary bucket list #LittleLoves

Well how the devil are you? We’ve certainly been making the most of the nicer weather and have popped down to the park most days. We still need the ol’ puddle suit, proved by the fact that the one time we thought we could do without it, Jenson fell ass-first into a massive puddle.

I had a follow-up with the surgeon and was signed off an extra week, although things are healing nicely, so that’s been a bit of good news. Check out some other things I’ve loved this week below.

Read: 100 Books that Changed the World by Scott Christianson and Colin Salter. I reviewed it earlier this week (it was released yesterday) and it’s certainly given me plenty of inspiration for my literary bucket list.

Watched: Thor Ragnarok. I hate seeing Marvel films out of order (we’ve already seen Black Panther) but we finally saw this last weekend and I freaking loved it. I hate ranking films and picking an absolute favourite but this is definitely up there. It’s certainly the most fun I’ve had watching a film for a while; you can totally feel Taika Waititi’s influence. The mark of a true auteur.

Heard: I’ve been meaning to listen to the latest Hashtag Authentic as I’ve really fallen for Bookish Bronte’s Instagram feed over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully I’ll find some time for a listen over the weekend. I’m not one for having a podcast on in the background as I want to really listen to it.

Made: I rarely cook these days but yesterday I pushed the boat out and made the boys fish finger sandwiches. Go me! Yes, that counts as cooking in my book. Luke also made a cheesecake as my dad is coming for tea tonight. Bring on dessert!

Wore: I’ve been able to get out without a coat on a couple of times this week, which has been super-exciting.

And lastly: As National Stationery Week gets nearer (there are only two full ‘working weeks’ left!), I’m getting even more excited. I’ve got a review and giveaway planned with a different brand for each day of the week and I’m attending the Stationery Show for the first time. I booked a place on one of the Trends Tours earlier this week and I can’t wait to see what’s going to be coming up over the next year. Be sure to follow my Stories for live info and keep an eye on #writingmatters for all of the week’s promos and giveaways.

Here’s a sneak preview of one of the brands I’m working with. More will be revealed next week.

  1. I love fish finger sandwiches haha. I used to have them when I was younger. You’ve made me really crave them. I really want to listen to hashtag authentic too, I’ve heard so many amazing things about that series. Thor is amazing isn’t it! It’s so, so funny. But I did much prefer Black Panther. I’m glad you’re feeling a lot better and you’re healing. It’s good you have an extra week off to rest and look after yourself. :) xx

  2. Glad you are having a lot better weather than we are it’s rained almost every day of our half term so far and we have a week more of it to go with rain forecast. We got one sunny day and it felt like we were on holiday what a treat. Sounds like you made the most of it and had so much fun too. Happy weekend ahead. #littleloves
