This summer is flying by – can you believe Jenson starts pre-school in less than two weeks? And my oldest nephew is starting big school. These last few days really are to be savoured. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to in the last week.
Luke and I went out for dinner on our own for the first time since January! And my Rattler was very much appreciated, albeit risky as we then headed to the cinema to see Ant-Man and The Wasp. Watching a film with me after 8pm is risky at the best of times but I grabbed a coffee and stayed awake – go me! And a cracking film it was too. It was also preceded by the trailer for Shazam – I swear I get more excited on each viewing.
There was a free family fun day up the road from us, complete with BBQ, bouncy castles and pony rides. We queued for about 45 minutes for a quick lap but Jenson loved it – and his ice cream!
Luke’s sister and the kiddos were down for the weekend so we headed to Paradise Park. Jenson got up close and personal with some birds, stroked a penguin, fed some goats and sheep, rode a train and went down some massive slides. He had the best weekend.
Dom is so good to me. I popped round yesterday and she gave me a box of unicorn tissues and her copy of In the Moment <3 The kids also played really well together – not just next to each other but together-together. My heart swelled with pride.
I also had a night off last night as it was my bestie’s 30th birthday. All you can eat Chinese and cocktails went down a treat. I didn’t take any photos but my face ached from smiling and laughing so much. Much needed.
I like to open my blogger mail and share the contents on Instagram Stories but only having the time to do this when Jenson is asleep, combined with waiting for new studio light bulbs, meant that I had six packages to open earlier this evening. It took me the best part of two hours to open and photograph everything – and that’s without doing ‘proper’ photos for future review posts. I feel so lucky to work with great brands and I can’t wait to share the contents properly in my upcoming posts. Check out some sneak peeks over on my Stories before they disappear.
I think we’ll be having a somewhat quiet Bank Holiday weekend, as the weather has gone old school Cornish, rather than the gorgeous summer we’ve had so far. I’m still going to savour the extra day with Jenson. Whatever you’re doing, I hope it’s a good one.
