My February 2020 bullet journal set up

I am a teeny bit obsessed with seeing how other people use their bullet journals and have pinned so many ideas that have popped up on my IG feed. Keeping my spreads minimal in terms of design makes my journal a lot easier to maintain, which is for the best, as I’m not at all gifted artistically. But that’s not to say that I don’t like a splash of colour to make it a bit more visually appealing. Here’s a look at some of my key pages for February 2020.

January review

Before I set up my monthly pages, I like to take a minute to reflect on the previous month. Last year I would jot down a bit of an update on my yearly goals but I took a different approach this year. Rather than setting typical goals, I decided to focus on a word for the year (proactive) and at the end of each month I’ll be highlighting things which have had a lasting impact, or things which have brought me joy. I also have a separate page for my blog wins to help keep me motivated when my confidence dips.

Cover page

Now for February. I wasn’t really one for cover pages last year as I didn’t want to ‘waste’ pages (I wanted to make each journal last six months). but this year I have one journal for goals, trackers, and daily reflections, and another for blog planning and organisation.

I wasn’t keen on this page when I first wrote it, as I’m still working on my lettering (I used a Zebra mildliner brush pen). But I decided to share it because, come the end of the year, I’m going to have a year’s worth of progress to look back on.

Mood tracker

Last year’s mood tracker was a year in pixels, where I could easily see everything at a glance and note key changes through the year. This year I’ve decided to do monthly trackers instead – largely because it’s more visually appealing! Which I know isn’t the point of bullet journals (sorry, Ryder!), but, hey, it brings me joy.

I didn’t want to use cliched hearts for February but it makes for a simple, minimal page.

Self-love

I changed up other logs and trackers throughout 2019, featuring spreads on self-care, and noting things that I was proud of. I often found that I wanted to note one thing a day and then felt unmotivated when I didn’t have anything to record for a few days. For February, I’ve decided to try a self-love page, as a reminder to focus on myself and also to note my achievements, no matter how small.

Gratitude

My gratitude log is something which has remained pretty consistent for over a year. Last year I used a single page and did the ol’ one line a day, but for February I’ve set up a whole double page spread, allowing me to expand on some entries.

I deviated from the heart theme for this after falling in love with a print on Make My Day Stationery‘s feed.

You might have noticed that I don’t have daily, weekly, or monthly spreads. I still haven’t found the absolutely perfect system for me; I have a mini diary which I keep in my day bag, a family calendar on the kitchen wall, and I use a day-to-a-page diary in my day job, as well as the aforementioned blog bujo. I do a daily (ish) reflection in this journal but it’s pretty much just free-writing with a header, so nothing too exciting to share.

How have you set up your bullet journal for February?
