Is it just me or does it still feel like it was just Christmas and now January is already over? It flew by in a blur of germs, geekery, coffee and cake, as evidenced by the following photos.
1. My brother bought me a seasalt and caramel cookie kit for Christmas and I gave it a whirl. Some of them even turned out cookie shaped! Very tasty
2. The first of several trips to The Front Room – my new fave place in Penzance, in case you didn’t already know. I met my mum for some much-deserved coffee and cake
3. Reading material and a trusty notebook for my first Keeping in Touch Day. You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to pick the perfect notebook
4. I saw this quote/footprints combo on the way to my second KIT Day and had to Instagram it
5. Breakfast at The Front Room – pancakes and bacon! Highly recommended
6. I thought I’d try an issue of the new mag Geeky Monkey and will def be picking it up again. Great combo of film, TV, games and books
7 & 8. Jenson bought me lilies with his pocket money when he went shopping with my mum. N’aww!
9. Coffee and cake at The Vault in Penzance for my mum’s birthday. The coffee art was defo deserving of a photo!
10. My January photos are severely lacking in anything not featuring Jenson (see collage below!) so I’ve thrown in what I’ve been reading, watching and listening to. I finally got round to reading the latest installment of Ms Marvel and I love it more and more each issue. You have to check it out!
11. I’ve been binge-watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch on The Vault – I even series linked it so I wouldn’t miss any. I started with season five episode three and went through to the final episode and was relieved when they then started all over again. Unfortunately, after season one episode six they skipped straight to season five episode one again! What’s that about?! I even tweeted The Vault to ask why but haven’t heard anything back. I might have to fork out for the boxset…
12. Jenson had a few days of getting up at 6am which meant that I needed a second breakfast. It’s really a thing! When you’re up early with a baby, 10am feels like lunchtime, so I was seriously flagging in town the other day and had to make a Costa pit-stop. Once I’d devoured my caramel shortbread I noticed the cute artwork on the bag
13. My lilies a week later – still beautiful!
14. I’m actually addicted to The Vault. There have been some great music shows on lately, including Lee from Steps introducing a load of their videos. I still know most of the words…
15. Last film seen in the cinema: Star Wars! Which means it’s been over a month since I’ve been to the cinema… Must rectify that…
Not seen enough cute baby pics lately? Before Jenson’s eight month update is belatedly posted on Wednesday, enjoy these snaps!
1. My mum picked up this adorable hooded onesie in the Boots sale. Look how adorable!
2. Now that some of his 9-12 months clothes are getting a bit snug (particularly his vests and sleepsuits – he’s got my bum!), I’m trying to remember to photograph him in my faves. I love this fire engine sleepsuit – also from Boots
3. Sitting up, looking all sweet and innocent, like butter wouldn’t melt!
4. He now has his own cupboard in the kitchen for his meals and snacks
5. He had a bad chesty cough at the start of the month and the doctor ended up giving him an inhaler to help. It had to be introduced as a toy first so he wouldn’t be scared of it and it worked a treat. He’s on it again a bit now because the poor chap has another cough
6. We’re trying more finger snack foods at lunchtime but he’s such a greedy chops that it all has to go straight in his mouth. Not good if you’re a bit anxious with baby-led weaning!
7. My brother bought him a Chewbacca onesie for Christmas. It’s perfect for keeping him warm and snug after swimming
8. He’s getting so good at sitting up now. He still has some wobbles so you need to keep your hands, well, handy, but I’m so proud!
9. We had a go at fruit puree ice lollies to help with his teething but he wasn’t really sure what to do with them… I think he needs to get used to having something frozen
10. He loves grabbing faces at the moment, especially my glasses and Luke’s beard
11. I thought his sleeping bag would stop him rolling in his cot. Apparently not!
12. It’s so cute when he falls asleep with his comforter in his hand!
13. Just look at that face!
14. Proud of himself rolling over – he has to make sure we’re watching
15. One of his favourite books
16. He wouldn’t let go of his rubber duck when he came out of the bath so we let him keep it for a bit
So that was January! I wonder what exciting times February will bring…
