On Saturday this here blog turns five! I’ve been blogging in one way or another for over 12 years now but my current blogging home is about to reach half a decade. To celebrate I’m hosting a week of giveaways (actually I kicked things off yesterday with a spa day cos I’ve got a fun extra post at the end of the week), sharing some of my favourite Cornish brands and businesses with you lovely readers – plus you could try them yourself for free!
Today’s post comes to you from The Front Room* in Penzance, my favourite place for brunch. Pre-baby it was the place to gossip with friends over coffee and cake and post-baby it continues to be one of my favourite places in Penzance! It’s super-child friendly – they don’t mind you leaving your pushchair in the corner, they have a play area under the stairs and if you pre-book they’ll have a highchair and a colouring book ready. Talk about service!
Their breakfast menu is served all day and can’t be beaten. I’m a creature of habit and always go for the pancakes with bacon and berries but Luke is a full Cornish kinda guy.
I was so impressed when we took Jenson recently because he has never eaten a meal out – we always have to take him a sausage roll or packed lunch because he rejects things that aren’t familiar. We took a chance and ordered him some banana pancakes and he wolfed them down! Definitely my go-to place for a treat with the boy.
Even if you’re just popping in for a coffee, I dare you not to be tempted by the cake selection.
Plus the whole place is so damn Instagrammable!

I’ve never had brunch there but the lunch I had was delicious. I’ve spotted they do eggs benedict with salmon, I better get myself over there quick smart, yummy!
I can’t fault the service or food in there. We always leave with full bellies and smiles š
