Chronicle Books’ Shine Bright Productivity Journal really is a thing of beauty. Available in black, gold and cream, it’s by far the most stunning bullet journal I’ve ever seen. But is it functional?
Of course it is, this is Chronicle Books! But before we get onto the nitty gritty, let’s take another minute to swoon, shall we?
Phwoar! And photos don’t even do it justice. Head to my Instagram post for a video which showcases just how super shiny this bad boy really is.
Now onto the features. We all know that my favourite bullet journals need to have page numbers, a built-in index, decent paper and a page ribbon, and the Shine Bright Productivity Journal ticks all the boxes. It has 185 pages plus six contents pages, as well as 160 wonderfully colour-coordinated stickers to help with your planning.
The dot grid is a smidge more narrow than what I’m currently using (the Leuchtturm1917), with 35 dots across and 49 down, and the journal itself is sized at 162x210mm – a bit bigger than your standard Leuchtturm, which is 145mm across. I’ve gotta say, I like the larger, more bookish, size.
And I love the 120gsm paper. As my lettering skills progress, I expect more form my bullet journal and the paper certainly holds up with my heavier brush pens. I did a pen test in the back and the only one to bleed was the Sharpie (because, duh!) with very minimal ghosting with a couple of the brush pens. It’s fountain pen friendly too!
I tend to average six months with each bullet journal so I’m looking forward to making this my January-June 2020 bujo.
Buy it on Amazon for £13.99.
What do you think? Pretty perfect, right?

Wow! This looks like a gorgeous bullet journal for me to get when I’ve finished with the one I have now. Compared to the Leuchtturm, I love that it has a stunning design on the front! I just need to teach myself how to do calligraphy! xD
