#JournalInMyStyle June prompts

I admit it, I’m a bad stationery addict! I pre-ordered the latest Journal With Purpose book months ago, complete with an epic stationery bundle offer from Cult Pens, and, up until a few days ago, hadn’t read the book or used any of the stationery!

I find it really hard to prioritise time for myself and my creative projects but my #JournalInMyStyle and #LettersInMyStyle challenges always get bumped up the list. I love using these challenges to explore different styles and products and thought it would be fun to use the book to help set the next selection of prompts and take inspiration from the 100+ examples in the book.

Journal With Purpose bullet journal book

Whether you’re new to journaling or have been journaling for years, whether you bullet journal or prefer something less structured, if you like to keep your spreads minimal or go all-out with accessories, calligraphy, or watercolour, this book will provide you with oodles of inspiration.

I like to keep my #JournalInMyStyle prompts quite broad so that they’ll appeal to a range of people, but also encourage participants to think outside the box a little bit and try something new. I really enjoyed trying my first Dutch door last month and always seek to push my own creative boundaries.

#JournalInMyStyle June 2021 prompts

Let’s delve into the June prompts a little bit more:

June cover page – pretty self-explanatory and is a staple of these challenges.

Goals – this can be your goal/s for the year, the month, a 30 Before 30 (or equivalent) list, etc.

Planning – this can be your future log, or a monthly/weekly/daily spread. It could even be a to do list.

Pride – we talk about gratitude a lot when it comes to journaling but something I introduced to my journal last year was a spread for things I’m proud of. It’s all about taking a moment to be proud of something you’ve achieved, or even refrained from doing, like having the courage to talk to your boss about a pay rise or not saying yes to something you really want to say no to.

Wellbeing – I don’t know about you but journaling is a big part of my wellbeing routine. This includes things like inspiring/empowering quotes, positive affirmations, mood trackers, gratitude, etc.

Mixed media – this is one for the art/junk journalers. I’m thinking about creating a mini vision board as a spread for this one but the world is your oyster. Think collages, scrapbooking, photography, etc.

Review – it’s so easy to set goals and not check in on how we’re doing with them, or do a bit of self-reflection when we have achieved them. I like to add a little review at the end of the month including things like books I’ve read, places I’ve visited, things Jenson has said that I want to remember… Do you already do this? Fancy giving it a go?

My pals at Cult Pens have hooked me up with an epic giveaway this month. One (UK) challenge participant will win a copy of Journal With Purpose: 101 Layout Ideas, a journal accessories set featuring some of my favourite brands, including Derwent, Tombow, mt, Legami, Rhodia, and Uniball, plus a copy of the first Journal With Purpose book, featuring over 1,000 motifs, alphabets and icons to help you to personalise your journal.
