I’m really keen to mix up the prompts that I feature each month for the #JournalInMyStyle challenge and continue to be inspired by other creatives and emerging trends. For June’s challenge I highlighted the fab new book from Helen Colebrook, aka Journal With Purpose.

It’s such a great resource for anyone interested in creative journaling, with suggestions for gratitude logs, habit and mood trackers, planning, reflecting, goal setting, project planning, and more, plus writing prompts. I used Helen’s themes as the basis for the challenge prompts and was inspired by her designs for my own layouts.

For my June cover page, I wanted to feature a literary quote with June in it, but I couldn’t choose between these two. I quite enjoy using the carousel feature to show different ideas, styles, and products, as well as my ‘process’ (eek, that’s a bit of a wanky term, isn’t it!).

I love a goals spread but I tend not to share the more personal contents on my blog and socials. Instead, I shared another fave – a seasonal bucket list. I highly recommend writing down those more personal goals as I tend to feel more accountable if I write them down and they feel less like pipe dreams.

I’m a bit obsessed with Dutch doors and these spreads really help you to see more at a glance.

If you struggle with self-esteem and imposter syndrome, I highly recommend creating a pride spread. List the things you’re proud of, whether it’s about yourself generally, or a working list for the month/year.

Last year, I started tracking my mood, steps, and sleep, and I noted some patterns. This month, I created a joint tracker so I can easily see just how much of an impact my sleep and time spent outside has on my mood. Next time I’ll amend the colour coding so all of the ‘good’ squares are the same colour.

Helen’s book also includes ideas for art and junk journals and I thought it would be fun to mix it up a bit. I love vision boards and thought it would be fun to do a spread to refer to in my bujo. This is a much-needed reminder to put myself first and focus on the things that bring me joy.

I’m quite a reflective person and like to take a few minutes to look back at the end of the month/quarter/year. I also like to keep a record of my favourite things and so have set up this super minimal spread for the month. I might yet add some colour and doodles…
I’ve seen a few people setting up monthly dashboards and I’m thinking about adding that to the list for next month.
