Looking back at August, it was a surprisingly busy month, with loads of fantastic blogging opportunities, a bulging bookcase and attempting to make the most of the sunshine as a family.
Are you even British if you don’t talk about the weather? August started damp and miserable (1) but soon turned into ice cream weather (2).
I stayed with my mum for a few days to help out while she was unwell and found a huge stash of Babybel (3) in the fridge. Now I’m hooked. Ooh, and check out this gorgeous bedding (4) in her guest room. Jenson slept surprisingly well and woke up shouting “elephant”. I’ll be jazzing up my own home soon with these awesome lights (9) I won in a Cable and Cotton giveaway. I’ve had them a few weeks now and still haven’t gotten round to hanging them.
Sainsburys continues to be one of my favourite stores as it’s so cheap and easy to pick up treats for myself and Jenson (5) while doing the food shop. And I finally caved and bought my first Harry Potter book (6)! I’ve seen all the films but haven’t read any of the books. The 20th(!) anniversary edition sucked me in (yes, I’m a Hufflepuff. I checked – twice!). My reading highlight of the month has to be Jane Harper’s Force of Nature (8). I was lucky enough to be sent a signed proof! Loving that book blogger life.
I’m totally obsessed with stationery swaps (7) and was really impressed with this lovely customized notebook I was sent.
Yep, stationery is featuring pretty strongly this month (#sorrynotsorry). I reviewed a new budget bullet journal (1), geeked out for World Calligraphy Day (2), took part in another stationery swap (3), finally bought my first Papergang (8) box (worth every penny!) and was sent my first SherbertBox (9) to review. Loving life!
I’ve had so much fun with Jenson too, taking him to Paradise Park (4), a community open day at the fire station (5), he had his first pony ride (6) and we played on the beach (7).
Hopefully we’ll see a bit more of the sun through September before I dig out the jumpers and boots. Not gonna lie, I do love Autumn. I’ll be back with a summer bucket list round-up and Autumn/Winter bucket list soon.
