After all my moaning last Friday about not doing fun things with Jenson, I soon remembered that there’s plenty of fun to be had for no money – when the weather is good. I spent the Bank Holiday weekend ticking ‘playing on the beach’ and ‘picnic in the park’ off my summer bucket list and Jenson loved it!
On Sunday I avoided the pirates and headed over to Mousehole where it was surprisingly pretty quiet. It’s usually heaving at this time of year but everyone and their mother (except me and my mother!) was in Penzance to attempt to break the record for most pirates in one place. They lost. But we certainly didn’t lose out and had a bleddy lovely time.
I’d forgotten how nice it was to just wander around and look at the pretty cottages, cafes and galleries, so I took a few pics along the way.
Like a lot of two year olds, Jenson loves making a mess (tipping toys out of their boxes just to fill them back up again), so building sandcastles was perfect. He spent ages sat there scooping sand into his bucket and tipping it over, just to start all over again.
When we went to the beach last summer he didn’t even want to dip his toes in the seawater but this time he ran straight in. He even tried sitting in it – not the best idea when he was wearing a normal nappy and clothes. I didn’t prepare for it because I didn’t think he’d be that into it but we’ll definitely be taking the Captain America swimming onesie next time!
I think I’ve just found my new favourite summer spot. Where’s yours?
