Gilmore Girls, finger painting and addictive reads #LittleLoves

This week has been pretty eventful, for Jenson at least. After skipping a nursery session due to a cold he then went on to sail through the next – with minimal tears and he actually played! His next session will be upped to two hours and it’ll include snack time, so let’s hope he keeps improving. So freaking proud! Here’s a look at what else we’ve been up to this week.

Read: Aaru and Little Fires Everywhere. I mentioned Aaru last week and managed to finish it on Monday, giving me two days of bus journeys to get through Little Fires Everywhere, which arrived last weekend. When my bus pulled into town on Wednesday evening I still had a few pages left so had to have an early night to finish it and holy crap it was awesome! I’m taking part in a blog book tour on 6 November so you’ll have to hang on for a full review until then.

I almost forgot – I completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge this week! I’ve hit 50 titles with nearly three months still to go. My TBR pile keeps growing and I picked up secondhand copies of Atonement and The Silence of the Lambs this week. Plus Luke, the angel that he is, ordered me It Only Happens in the Movies and Turtles All the Way Down. I hope they don’t arrive at the same time as I genuinely couldn’t choose which one to read first.

Watched: Gilmore Girls. For the last time. Well, for a while at least. I really need to pick another Jenson-friendly series to binge on when we’re both settling down for bed. Any recommendations? Something non-violent, non-sexy and non-sweary…

Heard: “Mummy”. The best part of my working day is walking through the door and hearing Jenson shout “Mummy!”

Made: Finger painting with Jenson. Poor bugger had a cold all last week and we spent the entire weekend indoors watching Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol. To try and break up the monotony I dug out the finger painting set he got for his birthday and gave it a whirl and we ending up making some pictures for family members to hang on their fridges.

Wore: My rain coat. Nearly every day. Boo.

And lastly: I’m really excited for the blog posts I’ve got planned over the next couple of weeks. There’s gonna be some Christmas stuff, including an epic gift guide and giveaway where you can win the bulk of your Christmas shopping!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I think I’m gonna try and get to a pumpkin patch.

  1. So inspired by all of your reading. I think this year is one of my worst for book reading, I normally manage two or three a month and I’m nowhere near that. I don’t know what’s changed but I need to get my books out more. Hope you’re having a good week x

  2. Oh sounds like you have been so busy. I am jealous of all that reading time. I have tried making more time for my reading lately and failed. But so many books here I am adding to my reading wishlist nevertheless. Little Fires Everywhere sounds like a must read. Happy week ahead. #littleloves

  3. We are currently watching suits after hearing so many good things about it through this link up. I’ve you artwork, i hope Jenson is still doing well with nursery.
