Planning for 2018 with Busy B #BusyQueenB

I was recently selected as one of Busy B’s Brand Ambassadors and to say I was excited would be a huge understatement. Could there be a more fitting collaboration than one between a nerdy blogger and a stationery brand which not only produces functional and fun products (a vital requirement of every item of stationery I own) but one that is managed by a woman who focuses on creating organisational tools that make working mums’ lives easier?

Their slogan is ‘Oh So Clever’ and that’s genuinely what they are. Founder Kerri identified a gap in the market and went in guns a-blazin’. I’ve already harped on about the fantastic Christmas planner (pre-Ambassador role) and you can expect to see plenty more posts celebrating not only the joy of stationery but also products that will help you live a more organised life.

I literally squealed with delight when my welcome pack arrived, complete with an invitation to a swanky event (which unfortunately I couldn’t attend as I live at the other end of the country. Boo) and a beautiful bundle of goodies to review.

Up first is my new 2018 diary. There’s a fantastic selection available to suit different needs and I was sent the Life Diary – the perfect choice.

Like most diaries, there’s the ‘this diary belongs to’ page and a spread for personal details.

But from there everything is different. There is so much attention to detail in ensuring that every page is useful and unlike anything you’d see in a ‘typical’ diary. There’s the calendars for 2018 and 2019, followed by a month view – great for highlighting key dates and being able to see all the important stuff at a glance. Plus every three months there’s a reminders section and handy pocket for all those little bits of paper that normally get lost in the bottom of your handbag but have vital info on, such as phone numbers and appointments.

Whereas most diaries would have a week to a page or a spread, the Life Diary has a week to a page but duplicated, so busy mums can keep track of their own lives plus those they’re responsible for. Of course, you could use that extra week for a multitude of things. You could have day job/side hustle, personal/family, life/blog schedule. And there’s even space for notes and reminders on both pages. It really is impeccably designed. If only it let you live your week twice, ey? Imagine how much you’d get done!

There’s also a few notes and contacts pages at the back for those extra bits, such as noting key dates for the following year. Although the diary comes with a handy reminder for 2019 diary publication dates. They really do think of everything.

I was also sent a pack of pens and sticky notes, cos we all know that a good diary deserves some sexy accessories. The styles complement each other well and I love that the diary comes with a nifty pen holder and slot at the back for sticky notes. Plus there’s a ribbon to note your week and elastic strap to keep everything together. Seriously, Oh So Clever!
