My life in photos: January 2018 #LikedandLoved

And just like that it’s February again! I’ve seen so many posts on Twitter over the last few days asking how it’s still January but I feel like the last month flew by – I swear it was just Christmas.

Here’s a look at the last month at Casa de Cornish Geek.

January 2018 photos

I’m really pleased with how I’ve progressed with my goals in just a few weeks. I’m still working on making more time for me but I was able to indulge in a bath (2) and I’ve had a couple of ‘early nights’ to binge on more Grey’s. I’ve also allowed myself to fall asleep with Jenson on the odd occasion because sleep is so important. He’s had a habit of waking up as early as 5.30am lately and coffee is also essential (4).

We’ve been more creative as a family though. With Jenson needing entertaining at home while he’s not been feeling very well we’ve done plenty of painting (5) and also made our first batch of Rice Krispie cakes (8). Jenson loves putting the sprinkles on top.

I really wanted to engage in more blog communities this year, particularly other book bloggers, and I’ve found so many great groups in the last month. I joined Blogger Book Nook, Hooked on Books with Joanna Victoria and Bookish Mamas on Facebook and I can’t wait to share my recent haul (1) with them. I’m also loving Charlotte’s The Content Crowd on Facebook, Jemma’s #ShinyHappyBloggers on Instagram and Rhianna’s #TheUncoolClub. It’s so exciting when you finally find your tribe/s.

Something I’ve really loved this month is using my Happy Journal (3), which a friend bought me for Christmas. I’m going to post the odd update through the year and you can check out my review here.

One of my highlights of last year was reading so many awesome books by and about incredible women. I bought 200 Women (6) with the last of my birthday pennies and I can’t wait to read these stories. This picture doesn’t do justice to how stunning the book is in real life.

Lastly, I’m so proud of how much my blog has grown over the last month. I’ve had my second highest stats ever, beaten only by a month where I ran a week of giveaways for last year’s blogaversary. I’ve even been posting (slightly) less frequently so that I can spend more time producing quality content and working on outreach. It’s totally paid off because I’ve already got some sponsorship lined up for National Stationery Week (my favourite week of the year) and I’m really excited about my upcoming collaborations. Brands I collaborated with last month include Prestige Flowers (7) and Busy B (9), as part of my ongoing role as Brand Ambassador.

I’m finally (hopefully!) having my minor op at the end of the month, so I’m trying to get a bit ahead of myself with my blog schedule over the next few weeks. If nothing else, at least the recovery period will encourage me to slow down a bit.

How was your January and what are you looking forward to this month?

  1. Well done for finding a bit more time for yourself, I think we’re all as parents a bit guilty of always putting everyone else’s needs first, there’s nothing wrong with taking a bit of time just for you and I am definitely a fan of naps ha ;)

Thanks for joining in with #LikedandLoved again sweet

  2. While I wouldn’t call myself a book blogger, I’m reading more this year (so far!) and have a book review scheduled for Monday. I hope to connect with more book bloggers – though I always end up buying SO many books when I do!
