How is my annual leave nearly over 🙁 Fortunately I’m off again in a few weeks for Jenson’s birthday and I feel like I’ve been productive with my time this week. I’ve been out in the sun, spent time with the family and caught up with friends. And we’ve got another birthday party tomorrow – it’s the season. It will swiftly be followed by another four, including Jenson’s. The babies definitely aren’t babies anymore, especially now that so many of the mums are on their second! Here’s a look at this week’s adventures.
Read: Because I’ve been on annual leave (i.e. not spending 12 hours commuting), I’ve not read a book this week – shock horror! Instead, I read a letter. Yep, I received a proper, hand-written letter, from the lovely Mel no less! She’s launched her own range of cards – you can find out more here.
Watched: I’m finally caught up on The Good Fight! Well, the episodes that have screened in the UK anyways. It packs as much of a punch as The Good Wife but with even more strong female characters – and more f-bombs. I’m hooked.

I also watched Passengers – the space flick starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, two of my favourite working actors. I really liked it until about two thirds of the way through because it seemed like a character-driven film that just happened to be set in space, rather than sci-fi for sci-fi’s sake. The final third was a bit hit and miss but overall I enjoyed it.
Heard: In an attempt to mix Jenson’s viewing habits up a bit, we’ve started on StoryBots on Netflix. Man, some of those songs are random!

Made: Knowing that Jenson would be getting a shit load of chocolate from family for Easter, we went a different way and bought him one of those gingerbread biscuit decorating kits from Co-op. I thought he’d love making a mess but he was surprisingly restrained. It probably didn’t help that the icing tubes are so tough that even I struggled squeeze the contents out but he loved licking off the sprinkles.
Wore: I rarely leave the house without my sunglasses on now which is awesome. I really must upgrade to a new pair with the correct prescription.
And lastly: I won Dom’s Papergang competition. Gotta admit I squealed a little bit; it certainly helped put me in the mood for National Stationery Week. Speaking of which, I’ve got a review/giveaway post scheduled for every day next week, so there won’t be a Little Loves, Saturday Share or Self-Care Sunday post. You can, however, win something every day, so be sure to stop by.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend 🙂

I’ve head good things about the good wife – I may need to go check it out! We tried those biscuit kits too and found the same thing with those little tubes! #littleloves
Argh those bloody tubes! If they’re made for kids why make it so difficult?!
I’m loving The Good Fight! I wasn’t sure what to expect as spin offs can be a bit of a let down but not in this case, it’s fantastic! xx
Me too 😊 It feels more grown up too – must be all the swears!
So many have raved about the Good Fight. We had the same thing with those little tubes with those biscuits. Ahhh! #littleloves (sorry for late reply).
I highly recommend catching up on The Good Wife on Netflix first but The Good Fight works well as a stand-alone too 😊
