I’ve always loved September. I think it’s the whole 18 years in education, followed by five years of working in higher education, that always makes it feel like the start of a new year. It’s the changing seasons too; it’s kinda magical! Here’s a look back at our September.
I started the month with a really fun collaborative post for World Letter Writing Day (1). It included a giveaway and I loved it when the recipient tagged me in a post to say thanks and that she loved her prizes. Blogging is awesome!
Of course, September means autumn (9) and autumn means hygge (2), so I’ve been loving the change of seasons and adding the relevant accessories to my flatlays (4). Gotta love that blogger life!
Of course, a gal’s gotta read and I’ve been trying to make my way through my ever-growing TBR pile (7). Damn things like that pesky Blogosphere (8) and beautiful mags like the new Teen Breathe (3) keep getting in the way. I don’t think I’ll ever stop reading/buying magazines.
And, of course, there’s that gorgeous son of my mine (5). We like to get out as much as possible, heading to the park on a dry day or hanging at soft play with friends. I love watching him grow in confidence every day.
Oh, and I went a bit sweater crazy in New Look (6), buying six in the space of a week! I’m all set for autumn/winter now though.
I had a bit of a nerdgasm when I saw my first new £10 note (1). I’m so excited to see Jane Austen featured and the use of the quote really is lovely. I’ve been swooning over Jane Austen a bit on the blog too, with this awesome subscription and stationery collection. All of the heart eyes!
I’ve been really enjoying creating seasonal on the blog and loved reviewing these new releases from Nosy Crow (2) – and having the opportunity to use some of my autumn flatlay props!
Stationery (3) and books continue to feature heavily on the blog and I’ve loved working with different brands. Roald Dahl Day encouraged a couple of fun collaborations (9) with Wonderbly and Truffle Shuffle and I got that warm and fuzzy feeling again when a reader won a giveaway to personalise her own copy of My Golden Ticket. It’s such a lovely book but my favourite this month has to be Lumberjanes (6) – review coming soon. It really surprised me and I’m interested to read some of the original comics and future novels. Jenson’s current favourite seems to be Postman Bear (5)!
I had some time to kill when out on my own the other day (shock horror!) and went for a wander around Falmouth, snapping photos of some fun street art (4), before heading to Truro (8) and a mooch around Primark (7) and Waterstones. I want all of the things!
October is set to be an interesting month, with my oldest friend getting married and another close friend moving away from Cornwall with her family. Methinks I might be a bit of an emotional wreck!
