Books, stationery, and wellbeing
You know what's better than a notebook? A nerdy notebook! So when I saw that a collection was being released alongside the fab Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy book, I knew I needed to add to my stash. The collection contains three notebooks, each with 64 lined pages. Celebrating three iconic characters from the… Continue reading Stationery porn: Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy notebooks
One of my biggest achievements when it comes to raising Jenson is his love of books. He always chooses a bedtime story (usually the same one on repeat for a few weeks) and at the end he immediately says "read it again!". He's deep in a Paw Patrol obsession at the moment, so we always… Continue reading What Jenson has been reading lately #4
I love books, but you know what kind of books I really love? Books about other books. And writing. Most writers are readers and there are few things we love more than to find a kindred spirit who understands the struggle of writing. Whether you've just started NaNoWriMo, battled through Blogtober, or are prepping for… Continue reading The Writer Says
You don't have to be a film graduate to know that the film industry is dominated by men, in terms of production, audience, and the stories told. Fortunately there is one particularly popular, decades-old franchise, which values its women: Star Wars. Super-nerd Amy Ratcliffe has produced a stunning anthology celebrating 75 female characters from across… Continue reading Book review: Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy
I adore anything which combines my love of stationery with any of my other passions, namely books and films, so I was super excited to hear about Abrams + Chronicle's new Studio Ghibli range. The collection launched earlier this week with (ridiculously freaking adorable) My Neighbour Totoro postcards* and notecards*. The 30 postcards come in… Continue reading Stationery porn: My Neighbour Totoro
My reading habits seem to be leaning towards the young adult genre lately, having recently read The Hate U Give, Are We All Lemmings & Snowflakes? and now Easy Prey by Catherine Lo. Each one has tackled a different prevalent issue, such as racism, mental health and sexting/online safety, further cementing the genre's relevance and… Continue reading Book review: Easy Prey by Catherine Lo
I love to journal but I can often become somewhat disheartened by the fact that I'm not remotely artistic; I much prefer guided journals. I like an almost workbook-like structure, something with a goal and an end result, and something which can help me both reflect and look forward. Last year's Make it Happen is… Continue reading Stationery porn: Your Brightest Life (guided journal review)
The idea for my first Book Week evolved from my love of the book featured in today's post. After I signed up for Abrams + Chronicle's Bookstagram Tour for the release of Bibliophile, I decided to create a week-long series of posts celebrating all things bookish. Bibliophile: An Illustrated Miscellany* by Jane Mount really is… Continue reading Book review: Bibliophile by Jane Mount
I'm a paper addict, so as much as I love tracking my GoodReads Reading Challenge progress via the app on my phone, I also love to have a physical reading journal. I guess it's for the same reason that I have years worth of cinema tickets in photo albums! No, not just because I'm a… Continue reading Read Harder: A Reading Log by Book Riot (review)
I love growing my Calligraphuck stationery collection. There's something about calligraphy which makes me feel fancy AF, so it's totally fine that this stationery is sweary. I already owned the flexi journal, list ledger and pencil case, so when I spotted the hardback journal in Abrams + Chronicle's catalogue I had to have it. A… Continue reading Positive affirmations and sweary stationery from Calligraphuck
